Editorial Guidelines

Last Updated: February 9, 2026

Our Standards

We are committed to providing accurate, thorough, and unbiased watch reviews. These Editorial Guidelines outline the standards and principles that guide our content creation and review process.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial content is created independently of any commercial relationships. We maintain a clear separation between our editorial decisions and our affiliate partnerships. No brand, manufacturer, or retailer can influence our reviews, ratings, or recommendations through payment or other incentives.

Our reviews reflect our honest assessments based on hands-on experience, detailed analysis, and expertise in horology.

Review Process

Every watch review on our site follows a rigorous evaluation process:

Hands-On Analysis

We examine each timepiece personally whenever possible. This includes physical inspection of the case, movement, dial, hands, bracelet or strap, and all functional elements. We do not publish reviews based solely on manufacturer specifications or marketing materials.

Detailed Documentation

Our reviews document comprehensive technical specifications including:

– Case dimensions (diameter, thickness, lug-to-lug, lug width)
– Movement details (caliber, jewel count, power reserve, frequency)
– Materials and finishes (case, dial, hands, bracelet)
– Water resistance and practical considerations
– Clasp type and bracelet adjustability
– Weight and wearability factors

Critical Evaluation

We assess both strengths and weaknesses. Our reviews include honest critiques of finishing quality, design choices, value proposition, and any shortcomings we identify. We compare watches to competitors in similar price ranges and evaluate whether they justify their asking price.

Photography and Visual Documentation

We photograph watches to illustrate key details, finishing quality, proportions, and design elements. Images are our own or properly attributed when sourced elsewhere.

Accuracy and Fact-Checking

We strive for accuracy in all published content. Technical specifications are verified against official manufacturer sources, and we cross-reference information when discrepancies arise. If we discover an error in published content, we correct it promptly and transparently.

What We Review

We focus on luxury and high-end timepieces across various price segments. Our coverage includes:

– Established luxury brands
– Independent watchmakers
– Emerging brands offering innovative designs or exceptional value
– Complications ranging from simple three-handers to grand complications
– Both mechanical and quartz movements when they represent compelling craftsmanship

What We Don’t Review

We do not review:

– Counterfeit or replica watches
– Watches we cannot physically examine or verify specifications for
– Products from brands that do not meet basic quality or ethical standards

Ratings and Recommendations

When we recommend a watch, it’s because we believe it offers genuine value in its category. Recommendations are based on:

– Build quality and finishing
– Design and aesthetics
– Movement quality and reliability
– Value relative to price
– Wearability and practical considerations

Not every watch we review receives a positive recommendation. We do not hesitate to advise against purchases when we identify significant flaws, poor value, or better alternatives.

Sponsored Content

We do not currently publish sponsored content or paid reviews. Should this policy change in the future, any sponsored content will be clearly labeled and disclosed. Sponsored content, if ever published, would not compromise our editorial standards or honest assessments.

Brand Relationships

We may communicate with brands to verify specifications, request press materials, or gain insights into manufacturing processes. These communications do not influence our editorial judgments. We do not guarantee positive coverage in exchange for access or information.

Corrections and Updates

If we publish inaccurate information, we correct it promptly. Significant corrections are noted in the updated article. If a watch’s specifications change after our review, or if new information becomes available, we may update reviews to reflect current information.

Reader Feedback

We value feedback from our readers. If you identify an error, have additional insights, or disagree with our assessments, we encourage you to contact us. Constructive dialogue helps us improve and ensures we’re providing the most accurate information possible.

Ethical Standards

We adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of our work:

– We do not plagiarize content
– We properly attribute sources and inspiration
– We respect intellectual property rights
– We maintain transparency about our affiliate relationships
– We prioritize reader trust above commercial gain

Continuous Improvement

We continually refine our review process and editorial standards. As we grow and learn, we implement improvements to provide better, more comprehensive coverage of the watches we review.
